Filigrane work for foam piecesby ~upwaut

Part of the new colour pattern of my chaos armour (see my profile): hands, parts of torso and parts of legs will be red. Painted with acrylics like a miniature: black/red shaded drybrush, black ink, black shadows, red highlights, no peak-lights. The filigrane emblems are window-colour-contour-paste in black, "painted" over with Pattex Transparent (otherwise it wouldn´t stick and cannot be painted). Instead of Latex for sealing the surfaces I use Pattex Transparent, applied like paint with a brush. It is quick-drying, odour-neutral, will take any amount of heat and direkt sunlight and can be easyly re-painted and sealed over (in case of repairs)- in my opinion definitely the superior choice.

they look great. can they be used as weapons, or shields? or are they only armour?

The "shields" serve mainly to hide the fact that the armour has no "joints" (that being one of the reasons why it can move so fast; an erlier version of the armour can be seen in motion on utube: [link] ). As a main impact area in play they also have to have some protective qualities, for many players tend to hit the "monsters" a little harder than necessary. As foam monsters work for the organisators of a game, they have no special "hit points", although at times we don´t count hits on the "shields" at all to simulate them being invulnerable to normal blades.
